fonts-stix software package provides Scientific and Technical Information eXchange fonts, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install fonts-stix
fonts-stix is installed in your system.
Make ensure the fonts-stix package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep fonts-stix *
You will get with fonts-stix package name, version, architecture and description in a table
